On Wednesday, May 22 local sports fans were treated to a night of humor and insight from Steve “The Schmoozer” Somers, Bob Heussler, and John Harper at The Bernhard Arts & Humanities Center of The University of Bridgeport.
Somers, a WFAN original, has been with the station since it’s 1987 inception. “The Schmoozer” became an institution on “The Fan” for his famous overnight show. Along with his 20/20 update chores on WFAN, Heussler has been the longtime basketball voice of both the Fairfield Stags and the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun. Harper, who played baseball and fast pitch softball with the University of Bridgeport and the Raybestos Cardinals respectively, covers both the Mets and Yankees for the Daily News and appears regularly on SNY Network’s “Daily News Live”.
