Blackham School’s Dante Clark won the Silver medal in the shot put at the 6th Annual CT Middle School Track & Field Championships. His throw of 44’6″ was a new personal best by more than two feet over his previous mark set at Sacred Heart University during this year’s City-wide Track & Field Meet.
Teams from Blackham, Luis Munoz Marin and JFK Campus (Multi-Cultural Magnet & High Horizons Magnet) had a total of 42 student/athletes participate in the State Championships, held at Manchester High School on June 1, 2013. Many of them just missed making it into the Medal Rounds, and this being their first experience with Track & Field.
Marin’s coaches were teachers, Matthew Benjamin and Megan Feeney. JFK’s coaches were teachers, Pam Jeanetty & Jessica Warnken. Blackham’s coaches were teachers, Chris Kinsley, Gary Garzarek, Chrstin O’neil, Erin Maciag, and Trish Wrenn.
