Dear Supporters,
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Bridgeport Field of Dreams Foundation, we hope you and your families have enjoyed a wonderful summer!
The Field of Dreams has been very active in support of Bridgeport Public School athletics on all grade levels during the summer months. On the high school level (top left photo) in late June, the foundation was one of the lead sponsors of the initial Pave The Way Football Camp, which featured teams from not only Bassick, Central and Harding High Schools, but Bullard Havens and Stratford as well. The teams worked with both their respective coaching staffs, as well as with visiting high school and college coaches.
Bookending the football camp (top middle photo), was our first sponsored high school volleyball clinic, in August. The girls’ teams from Bassick, Central and Harding received two days of top-notch instruction from Cat Davis and her coaching staff from the Northeast Volleyball Club. Bridgeport high school coaches also helped provide instruction. Both individual and team skills were emphasized.
On the middle school level, we had record enrollments in our Soccer, Basketball, Cheerleading, and Girls in Sports clinics. Bridgeport high school staff served as lead coaches at the clinics, and were assisted by Bridgeport high school varsity student-athletes, who served as coaching interns. The high school players did their usual terrific job of bonding with the younger players, while helping to sharpen their skills.
