The Bridgeport Field of Dreams Foundation was excited to sponsor its initial middle school girls’ volleyball clinics this winter. Seventy girls in grades 5 – 8 participated, with the Bassick, Central, and Harding coaching staffs supervising the program. Varsity players from the three high schools served as “assistant coaches”. Adding to the excitement, the Fairfield University Women’s Volleyball Team stopped by one of the sessions, and provided valuable instruction in the form of coaching hints and skill demonstrations. To top things off, all participants were presented with a volleyball to take with them at program’s end.
